Nofs to Announce Intention for Michigan Senate District 19
Battle Creek, MI— Former State Representative Mike Nofs (R-Battle Creek) will announce his decision on whether to run for state Senate next week, Tuesday, April 21st, 2009. Mike Nofs will announce his intentions at two locations on Tuesday:

The 19th Senate District was vacated when Mark Schauer left the office after being elected to the U.S. House. Governor Granholm’s office filed paperwork in late February to hold the primary election to fill the seat on August 4th with the General Election taking place on November 3rd.
>Mike Nofs served with the Michigan State Police for 25 years and retired in 2002 as commander of the Battle Creek state police post. Prior to that, Nofs worked for the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department, the Marshall City Police Department and the Battle Creek Police Department. Mike Nofs was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2002, and re-elected in November 2004 and 2006. Nofs was term limited from seeking re-election.
