Representative Mike Nofs - A Community Leader Protecting Us

Few, if any, lawmakers have made such a positive impact in their first two terms as Mike Nofs, state representative of the 62nd District

Nofs, who serves the Battle Creek area and Calhoun County, was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2002. He was then re-elected in November 2004. Before his election to the state House, Nofs spent a decade on the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners, including five years as chair.

After 25 years with the Michigan State Police, Nofs retired in 2002 as commander of the Battle Creek state police post. Prior to that, Nofs worked for the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department, the Marshall City Police Department and the Battle Creek Police Department.

Using his wealth of experience serving and protecting Calhoun County and Michigan residents, Nofs led his first election campaign on the vital issue affecting all Americans -- homeland security.
